WWTK--Independence Day

We Want to Know time--4th of July issue.  So excited to be off work today--not to thrilled that I have to go back tomorrow.
Kenzie @ http://cbmommyhood.blogspot.com/ wants to know...
1. What are your 4th of July plans?  We are going to the major park in town where they ahve all kinds of activities set up--free watermelon, free beer, free ice cream, bounce houses for the kids, various swag, fun times.  This is the first year we've gone since Bruiser joined us--we usually go camping for the 4th.  Having the 4th on Wednesday really shoots going anywhere in the foot.
2. Are you going to set off fireworks?  Most definitely not.  The big fireworks display has been cancelled for us--too much fire already.  We will barbecue and enjoy family time after the park.
Which has Crazymama wondering...
3. What is your favorite BBQ side dish?  I like coleslaw--the greek version we do is awesome but I also like the vinegar based kind.  Potato salad and macaroni salad are good too.  And then there's always corn on the cob done on the grill--yum!
4. What is your favorite BBQ main dish?  Ribs, steak, chicken--what ever can be done on the grill, I like it all.
5. Do you decorate or dress in red white and blue for the 4th?  I will go so far as to wear red or blue and dress the boys in flag decorated tank tops, but that's about all.  We do have a flag type wind sock on the front porch--but it's out there all year.

So go see Mamarazzi and Crazymama for linky fun.

  5. How awesome to have free watermelon and activities for the kids! I would most likely be doing that if they had that going on around here. Are you in CO where those fires were??! I hope that you all can stay cool somehow, but yes no fireworks would be a good thing. Happy4th
