HodgePodge "Super" "Bowl"

1. February can be a little bit tricky given the weather and the winter and the whatnot. I read a list (here) of things you can do to make your February brighter which included-start planning your next trip, take more baths, make your own chocolate covered strawberries, and exercise in preparation for swimsuit season. Anything on the list you might try? Which suggestion on the list appeals to you most? Tell us something not on the list that helps make your February brighter.
OK, so Nick and I have determined that we are taking the boys to see the Mouse in Florida this summer, so vacation planning is definitely the way for us to beat the February Blues this year. Therefore I am exercising as a swimsuit will be worn this summer.
As we are moving this summer too, I have been cleaning things around the house and packing up the sundries to send with Nick on his trips to work in Casper. There are parts of the house that are starting to look a bit bare.  The more we move in the little trips means less boxes to fill when the big move happens in June.

2. Tell us about something you've seen or done recently that you'd say was 'super'?
We attended a Superbowl party.  There was a "super" taco bar.  It was fun and tasty. THe game was good too, but I'm not much of a football fan.

3. Best thing you ate in a 'bowl' last week?
I made a mexican lasagna with chopped grilled chicken, black beans, corn and diced tomatoes, layered with tortillas and just a bit of cheddar cheese,  It was so tasty with sour cream on top.

4. Something you're 'cheering' for right now?
Well not exactly right now, but come Friday we will be cheering on the winter Olympics.

5. The Winter Olympics begin Friday, February 9th in Pyeong Chang, South Korea. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being all in and 1 being no interest whatsoever) how interested are you in the games? Which event do you most want to see (you'll find a list here).
We are about an 8 or a 9.  we love watching the games, be they summer or winter.  For the winter games, we like nordic skiing, ice skating (figure and speed), alpine skiing, bobsled, snow boarding, really most of it.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Last week I went to a pop up paint party and got to make a lighted painting.  It was such fun.

Now I just need to get out the hot glue gun and fix the lights in place.

Have a great week!

G2KM: More Questions

More get to know you questions from Curious as a Cathy:

51. What is the one item you can’t leave home without?
Carmex.  Or another type of lip balm.  We live in a dry climate and having something to keep my lips from cracking is necessary.
52.  What is your favorite music genre?
Right now country.
53. What is the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
When I was 13 months old my mother took me to England.  I have no memories of the trip, but I went.  The furthest from home I remember being was the trip to the Bahamas Nick and I took on our honeymoon.
54.  Who is the best teacher you ever had?
I had a professor when I was getting my first bachelors degree who taught 20th century European history.  He was a no nonsense, to the point type of teacher.  I learned a lot from him about how to get to the point in an essay.
55.  Who is the first person you call when something exciting happens?
Either C or N, two of my friends who would both be excited, or commiserate with me depending on the news I had to share.
56.  Who is the first person you call when something horrible happens?
Same as above.  Good friends are so necessary
57.  What is your most embarrassing moment?
Not so much a moment, but both Nick and I were a bit red faced the next day.  We were camping with a three year old Turbo.  He had difficulty saying the st sound, it came out d sounding.  As with camping, we had a campfire.  Turbo liked to poke sticks in said fire.  He also did not like toasted marshmallows, he would rather eat them raw or "naked" as he called it. Now imagine, if you will, sitting in a nice family campground and hearing a little kid yelling out "Mommy! I want to eat marshmallows naked and put my stick in the fire!" only the stick sounds like dick. Yeah. We got some really weird looks the next day.
58.  What are some of your bad habits?
I tie knots in my hair. I twist it around my fingers, and sometimes I end up with small knots in it that I just can't get out.  It's a nervous/boredom habit I have had since I was little.
59. Who is your favorite musician?
There are so many I like. Right now I really enjoy Dierks Bently.
60.  What is the first movie you remember seeing?
My first memory of attending a movie was a drive in movie to see Escape from Alcatraz.  I remember the cartoon a bit and the scene where the inmate goes nuts and cuts off his own fingers. It was the mid 70s, not so much with the kid movies then.

Monday and MMMM

So here we are at another Monday. The weekend was semi productive.  I got laundry done.

I really do hate the folding part of laundry.  However, if I don't fold and put away the laundry it turns into laundry anarchy and makes more work for me ultimately.
We did get out as a family for lunch on Saturday.  Nick has improved his cholesterol numbers and so he got a good burger as a reward. He's back on his diet change now, but he enjoyed his burger.

Anyway, how about MMMM.  This week is favorite country songs.  Or a freebie.  Whatever, I usually do country so here you go:
Carrie Underwood with Champion:

Carly Pearce with Hide the Wine:

Josh Abbott Band with Wasn't the Drunk

Have a great week!
