Random Time

Time to random up the place.  It is Tuesday after all. Which isn't Monday and that's a good thing.

  • We've hit that part of summer where the days all sort of blur together.  We were so busy last weekend that relaxing was sort of shoved off the plate.  Every day is hot, nights are cool, work, home, routine, rinse lather repeat.  I'm beginning to look forward to our vacation, even as I kind of dread the car trip.
  • Yesterday afternoon Finding Nemo was on TV.  We only watched the end, but Bruiser got caught up in it anyway and was so worried about Nemo.  It was cute to see him go "Oh, no!" and "yay!" for various parts of the movie.
  • You know you're an adult when sleeping in until 7:00am is wonderful.  When you can joke to a friend about menopause.  When you get satisfaction from a clean kitchen or bathroom.  When you morn all the missed naps from when you were a kid.
  • I'm still running.  I don't like it, but I'm still running.  I'm beginning to see results.  Nothing huge, but my clothes aren't so tight.
  • Insomnia is selfish.  Last week it wanted my company.  This week it seems to want Nick's.  Not getting sleep when there's no good reason just makes it that much harder to handle.
  • This is Turbo's last week of summer school summer science camp.  The schools here make summer school more like a summer camp and sneak the continued learning in on the kids.  Makes going to school in the summer easier to take.
  • Bruiser has progressed on the potty front but pooping success still eludes us.  At least he will pee in the potty without protest.  He sometimes even goes on his own.  Small steps, right?  I'll take it.  It's better than changing diapers constantly.  Now to get him to go potty when we aren't at home.  One day I'll look back and joke about the issues we had potty training him.  Some day.
So what's your random?  Write it up and link up with Stacy, she of the Random linky.

  1. My body clock is totally out of whack at the moment, awake till 2 or 3 in the morning and then sleeping till noon. Don't know how I'm going to cope with going back to work next week.

Glad to hear that you are making progress on the potty training front!

  5. Yay for Bruiser peeing in the potty! Steps in the right direction...it's only a matter of time for the rest, now! :)

We've hit the same part of summer where it's going to be a whirlwind of activity between now and Princess Nagger's first day of school. Now I wish we'd saved our vacation towards the end rather than the beginning so we'd have something good to look forward to! :)

  6. I have to say that we did our time (of summer only vacations) while the kids were in school but I really like when September rolls around. All the kids are back in school and we can go on vacation in the off season.

Good for Bruiser. Some kids take a little longer to get potty trained than others but that's okay.

  11. I get jealous over my friends' washers and dryers!
If you aren't feeling the running, why not try something else?

  12. My sleep schedule goes back to "normal" during the summer, which is around midnight to 8-9 in the morning. I don't know how I am going to make it when I have to go back to work full time!

Hooray for Bruiser! Baby steps is right! They do have fiber gummies for little kids--that seemed to help us get on a "schedule" for the pooping. We just had to be somewhere that we could take him to the potty.
