A Fine Spring Monday

Yes a fine spring Monday that started out at 11 degrees.  11 degrees.  That is freaking cold.  What the hay, Mother Nature--having a hot flash and just needing to cool off is one thing, but really.  This is a lot colder than I expected for April.  We also had that snow stuff too.  ANd more is predicted for us later this week.  I love spring.

Anytemps, we did some much needed purging this weekend.  Cleared out a lot of junk from the attic--stuff that my mom saved for me and I had not really gone through to figure out what I really needed to keep.  I whittled down the pile to about six boxes.  There were about 15 or so boxes to begin with.  I call this a win.
We also moved the stored clothes from Turbo down to Bruiser's room.  They replaced a computer desk that was in there from when that was my home office.  Now I just have to come up with a theme for Bruiser's room.  I'm planning on repainting and giving him some sort of decor when we transition him to a real bed.  Any ideas?

The desk from Bruiser's room is now in the attic, which is half finished.  There is enough space up there for the boys to have a play area and Nick and I to have an area to do hobbies--for Nick that's n-scale trains, for me scrap booking.  There needs to be a bit more work on shelving and a table but there is room and I'm going to end up with a space.  Nick is taking away my excuses.  Damn him bless him.

Yesterday Nick got the laptop set up up there and the printers and a surprise.  He got me a brand new scanner.  I'm kind of looking forward to being able to scan old pictures.  I might even try my hand at digital scrap booking--if I can find a program that I like.  Although, I really like working with paper and tape and creating neat and interesting pages for our memories.

So how was your weekend?  Productive, lazy, some where in between?

  1. That's funny that your hobbies are n-scale trains and scrapbooking! It's the same with us...although we haven't worked on them in a long time. My husband, Brian started model railroading about 12 years ago...but has probably only worked on it maybe a total of half that time...it all got packed away when we moved to FL in 2004...and hasn't been touched since. Then my dad (who also did n-scale modeling) died a year ago and left all his stuff to Brian. Maybe eventually he'll get back to it.

I, on the other hand, hope to work on some scrapbooking soon. We're taking a couple weeks off from homeschooling the end of April, and my plan is to work on it at least a few days then! I doubt I'll ever get caught up tho!

  3. I love digital scrapbooking, largely because I have no mess to clean up. I use Photoshop Elements, but there are lots of other programs out there - just visit some digital scrapbooking websites and they have lots of tutorials (you'll find lots if you Google). I used to print my books, but then figured out that using Blurb.com to print them was cheaper.

  4. My weekend wasn't half as productive. I wanted to clean out my closet, ended up scouring Lowes with john and Sprite for ways to keep our errant beagle from running away again.

  5. I used to love scrapbooking, but I can't get all that stuff out without my 2 year old going crazy in it...so digital scrapbooking is WAY more my style now.
I had a good lazy weekend...this morning I was a crazy cleaning lady trying to pick up the mess from the weekend...it was nice though.

  7. I woke up to snow. Granted, none of it accumulated, but it was still snowing.

Wow, you were busy, busy, busy! I'd say I was jealous but for once my house is clean cuz I was busy, busy, busy the last couple of weeks.

I was an absolute slug this weekend, with the exception of going out to see my besty. Other than that, I didn't do a darn thing. It was heavenly.
