Saw this on Raven's blog--Stuperhero Extraordinaire, she got it from Living a Goddess Life who got it from somewhere else. OK, so here goes:
*Age~ 37. 38 on August 22. I'm far closer to 40 that I ever imagined. I also don't feel at all that old.
*Bed~ King. Spring Air that I got for a good deal when I was selling furniture. The day after it was delivered and paid for, they fired me. I'm not pushy enough to sell furniture.
*Chore you hate~ It's a toss up between dishes and laundry, because they are never ending.
*Dogs~ We have one right now. Guiness is a collie/lab mutt. He's ten and has arthritis in his hips, but still tries to heard us all together all the time.
*Essential to start your day~ My quiet time in the morning after I'm up and dressed--I get about 15-20 minutes to read, surf the net, or just stare at the wall if I want to without small people demanding my undivided attention.
*Favorite color~Green.
*Gold or Silver~ Silver mostly, but I do like gold too.
*Height~ 5'7. I thought I was 5'6 1/2" until my physical this last year when the nurse told me I was 5'7". I'm not going to argue with her.
*Instrument~ I attempted to play the trumpet in 5th grade. Not my first pick--all the cool girls played the clarinet. Didn't stick with it at all.
*Job Title~ Mother/wife/friend/geologist--the last one is the one I get paid for.
*Kids~I have 2 boys--Turbo, almost eight; and Bruiser just two, yes I am outnumbered in my own home, thus the name of my blog.
*Live~ In Laramie, Wyoming. We are one of the few towns in our state to have more than 20,000 people in our town--hey we only have two towns with more than 50,000 people in them in the whole state.
*Mom's name~ Mary
*Nickname~ Boober, Mom.
*Overnight hospital stays~2 for childbirth, one for kidney stone removal--which resulted in 8 additional days in the hospital for what for most people is an out patient procedure. Fun times.
*Pet Peeve~The biggest one is slow drivers. Going slower than the speed limit is not safer--you are a hazard to those of us who follow the rules.
*Quote from a movie~ "Back off man, I'm a scientist!" Ghostbusters.
*Righty or lefty~ Righty.
*Siblings~ One younger brother.
*Time you wake up~ right around 6:00am. I am physically awake, but the mental part of the equation does not usually catch up til about 8:00am.
*Underwear~ Bikini, the occasional thong--depending on what I'm wearing and for whom.
*Vegetable you don't like~ Onions. Raw ones. I can about stand green ones, but the rest--ewww.
*What makes you run late~ Dawdling little boys. It's amazing how much time it can take to find a pair of shoes.
*X-rays~I have had many x-rays, after the great kidney stone adventure of 2007, I have had several abdominal x-rays and a few chest x-rays thrown in for good measure. It's never a good thing when your doctor looks at your x-ray and says,"Hmmm, we don't usually see that."
*Yummy food you make~Clam chowder, chicken cordon blue, lasagna, sausage and peppers, pork chops, ribs, the list could go on--I do pretty good in the kitchen anymore.
*Zoo animal~ The tigers, lions, bobcats, cheetahs, any of the cats. What can I say, I like cats--big and small.
Sweet! I'm so glad you did it! I totally forgot about childbirth when I listed my hospital stays. Oops.
ReplyDeleteYay for late August birthdays! :D
ReplyDeleteI love that your dog's name is Guinness. And that your quote is from Ghostbusters. :)
Id have to pick laundry over dishes...at least the dishes I can load in the dishwasher so they arent staring at me!
ReplyDeletei totally agree with the wake-up time. It takes me quite a while to feel mentally ready for the day.
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun one! Shoes... they are the devil aren't they! I am not quite sure how each of my girls can have 15 pairs of shoes yet I cannot ever find one matching set.
ReplyDeleteGood Heavens! What went wrong with your kidney stone removal operation???
ReplyDeleteMy husband is from Wyoming! I think the town his parents live in now has a population sign that claims 100 residents. Bustling metropolis!
I played the clarinet in middle school (for about 3 weeks) any my husband played the trumpet clear through until he graduated high school. It's a proven fact (in my opinion) that trumpet players make the best kissers. Be sure to pass that knowledge on to Nick...:)
Fun to read about you! My husband is one of those slow drivers. I just keep my mouth shut unless there is someone behind us, then I have to say something. I don't want to cause road rage!
ReplyDeleteAnd Boober--after the fraggle? :)
