I don't have to present today. I survived yesterday. It wasn't too ugly. With any luck I won't have to present for a while. Crossing my fingers here. Now on to the random:
- I tried to paint my fingernails on Saturday. It was less than successful. Toes I can paint just fine. Fingers, not so much. It's lasting better than I expected. I may need to practice some more.
- We thoroughly enjoyed the Mythbusters premier. But then, we are geeky like that.
- I will run again tomorrow, weather permitting. I still don't like to run.
- We got a plecostomus (algae eater) for our aquarium the beginning of April. It was a cute little 2 inch fish. One month later, he's four inches and still growing. He had quite the algae to feast on. He's a happy fish and we have a clean tank.
- I survived my talk. Everyone thought I did a good job. Evidently, all the time in speech team and theater in high school finally payed off. Inside, I was basket case. Outward, no one knew.
- Sleeping in a hotel room is not easy. Too much noise, too hot, too cold, the list of sleep interrupters goes on and on.
- I am looking forward to getting home and seeing the boys. they will be asleep, but I can go peek in on them.
- Still enjoying my Kindle Fire. easier to travel with than a netbook even.
I have had good nights in hotels but they were really NICE ones. For the most part, they are not comfortable at all!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on surviving your presentation - and it sounds like it went great, even if you were nervous! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I used to LOVE staying in hotels... now, I hate it. I like the adventure of going away, but I miss my bed, the familiarity of home, and the peace & quiet. Last summer we stayed in a hotel where the people in the room next to us were partying and then the sounds of someone vomiting loudly followed...so gross. I wanted to leave right then, in the middle of the night!!
Great randomness! So glad you did well on your presentation. woot woot! I suck at nails too. I miss my pedi mani...saving money.
ReplyDeleteWith practice presentations get easier but it is always nice when it is over.
ReplyDeleteThe first night in a hotel it is always hard for me to sleep. By the second of third I'm usually good.
Hotels and plecostomus both freak me out. And who paints their finger nails? Waste of time when you're following two little boys around!
ReplyDeleteI had a place growing up and I'm not joking it grew over one foot long. It was as long as my forearm. I also had an Oscar the same size. They were in a 55 gallon tank and managed to kill every fish and no joke lived about 15 years.
ReplyDeleteI miss having an aquarium - the plecostomus are interesting to watch, aren't they? :)
ReplyDeleteYay for surviving your talk! But then, I had no doubt you would be a smashing success. ;)
I'm the same way you are with hotel rooms - it is hard to sleep because it's either too noisy, too quiet, too hot or too cold. :) But it is nice to get away like that every so often - and makes you appreciate coming home, too. ;)
If the boys know you'll be home, I bet they'll be too excited to sleep so you might end up with some hugs and kisses when you get there. :)

I would KILL for a nights stay ALONE in a hotel. I'm TIRED. Drew doesn't sleep through the night and I'm exhausted all.the.time!
ReplyDeleteHow's running going? I registered for my first 5K! Woo hoo!
