Spin Cycle--UFOs and Such

The Spin Cycle is all about UFOs this week.
Do you believe in unidentified flying saucers? Aliens? The unexplained?
Have you seen them? Met them? Been abducted? (No judgement here! We're here to listen!)
Do you think it's nothing but hogwash, a distraction made up by the US government in an attempt to cover up their own sinister experiments?
I have never been abducted by aliens, nor really had an Encounter.  I may have seen something, but it was a long way away and I'm not sure it wasn't something natural.
I was driving home from college--a five hour drive at the time, all in one state, wide open spaces and all that--and as I was heading north on the interstate off to the left toward the mountains (which I could not see as it was dark out at the time) I saw an oval shaped light just above the horizon.  It was a white light and just sort of appeared out of nowhere.  Now, you need to know that there were no towns in that direction, only mountains, and the only other light was from cars and trucks on the interstate.
The light was so far away that it looked very tiny.  It hovered for a moment and then went straight down behind the horizon and disappeared.  It was weird.  I'm not positive that it was a UFO, but it was something.  And that is my only encounter with something odd.
Now I really think that as vast as the universe is, it's conceited to think we are the only life out there.  However, I'm not sure that earth is an attractive stopping point in the universe.  I did know a psychology professor who wrote a book on alien abductions.  He was a bit kooky, but always fun to talk to.
Now go see Jen at Sprite's Keeper for more UFO spins.

  1. That's how I feel about UFOS - it's totally absurd to think we're alone, but it's ridiculous to think anyone would be interested in seeing the war, the greed and the general nonsense that's going on here!

  2. Ohhh, glad YOU didn't get abducted. I'm not sure how I feel about them either.... that professor would have been a fun drinking buddy.

  3. I have a hard time believing we are alone. I've never seen an alien or have any theories on them, but I believe anything is possible.

  4. I sometimes wonder how some people try to explain things like the building of the pyramids by saying that aliens helped us out. Are we that conceited as to think that ancient civilizations did not have the know-how to do such things.

I can see it now… thousands of years in the future archeologists say that cell phones could not have been made by people as primitive as us.
