The flu...

...knocked me on my butt last week.  I was unable to do much of anything but inhabit the couch from Friday to Sunday.  Nick is out of town for work so the weekend was interesting to say the least.
What makes it even worse for my poor boys is the weather was pretty nice and mom couldn't set foot outside.  And I sure couldn't trust Turbo to watch Bruiser out there.  So we spent a lovely weekend watching TV and letting Turbo play video games because I could not function.
What this weekend was supposed to bring was some fun in the sun at the lake Nick is camped at for work--he's doing some geologic mapping and being close to the field area helps.
I'm still not 100% but I am better.  I'm sorry I was not able to get around to anyone on Friday, but my mental capacities were pretty nil.  I haven't been that sick in quite a while.
What surprised me was that Turbo was really quite helpful and pretty understanding.  He willingly ran errand around the house for me and was willing to humor Bruiser most of the time.
So instead of a fun weekend, I spent mine trying to get better.  I was mostly successful.  I think this one might linger for a bit.
And how was your weekend spent?  Hopefully in a better manner than mine.

  1. Sorry you were sick. I always say that moms are not allowed to be sick. It should be a rule! That said, I've been trying to ward off sickness for a few days now. Vitamin C and lots of water.

  2. I'm so sorry you were/are sick. Well, the silver lining is that your children are learning that mom is human and also how to be compassionate. I often wonder why we, as mothers, want to instill into our children the idea that we are super women. It never ends well. LOL Feel better.

  3. Glad you're on the mend, but being sick is pretty sucky.
Weekend was okay, a lot of company, an overstimulated four year old, and a thankfully quiet bedtime last night. :-)
