WWTK--Gold, Silver or Bronze

We Want to Know time--Wednesday comes around every week.  Since the big thing right now is the Olympics, that's what the questions are about.
From Crazymama:

(1) What was your favorite part of the Opening Ceremonies?  I think I liked it all but the torch lighting part was my favorite.  It was unique and very beautiful.

(2) Which country are you rooting for? ( I realize we aren't all Americans)  Well america, but I do love hearing about the underdogs who win unexpected medals.  It good to see excellent performances.

(3) Which is your favorite event to watch and why? I like swimming and gymnastics.  Swimming because I swam in high school and have an appreciation for the work that goes into it.  Gymnastics because it's fun to watch.  I also like diving.  But I have enjoyed watching more of the games this year.  Having lots of channels that are showing other sports than what prime time shows like fencing, rowing, weight lifting, and beach volleyball.

(4) Have you found a new sport that is surprisingly delightful?  I really like Men's Beach Volleyball.  And diving.

(5) Have you always been a fan of the Olympics? what is your earliest Olympic Memory?  Not really always a fan, but I do remember bits and pieces of the 1984 games.  But the first games I really remember watching was swimming in Barcelona in 1988.  Now we are firm Olympic watchers--summer and winter.  With satellite TV, watching the games is easier than ever.

So what are your Olympic watching habits?  Link up with Mamarazzi and Crazymama and let us know.

  1. Yes. Men's beach volleyball! This is my first year to pay attention to it. I watched some extra stuff online and cycling too. I was stoked for the.winner of women's cycling from the Netherlands she fought for it the whole way. Very cool.

I haven't watched the Olympics this year so I'm not really sure what all is going on, haha.

  4. I agree that satellite TV makes Olympic watching so much easier. Now, I just need to discover those channels showing the other sports!

  5. I was on the swim team in high school, too. Butterfly was such I hard stroke for me, so now I have a real appreciation for it when I see our swimmers doing so well. Go Team USA!

  6. I root for underdogs too; the other night I think I was cheering for Russia, just because they were pretty much expected to come in last. LOL.

  7. I like that I am reading about people that swam or did gymnastics when they were kids. I never did any of those things or knew anyone who did those things when I was a kid!
