Promises, Promises

Last year I decided to change things up a bit.  I did not make resolutions.  I never kept them anyway, so why continue to do something that wasn't working anyway?  I thought about it and making promises seemed a better way to go.
When I looked back at the promises I made to myself last year, I managed to keep most of them.  So, since this seems to be working, I'm going to make some new promises to myself.

  • I need to continue to work on meal planning for my family.  When we have a meal plan in place things just run more smoothly.
  • I want to scrapbook.  This is one promise that I did not keep last year.  This year I am determined to find the time and motivation (at the same time) to tackle the scrapbooks.
  • I want to get to Denver with the boys to see the aquarium and zoo.
  • I will continue to read, new books, old books, Kindle books, anything that gives me that escape, if only for a few minutes.
  • I will make time to do something for my body--ball exercises, ab work, walking--something physical that is good for me.
There, I think those are generally specific enough that I will keep them.
Did you make resolutions?  Have you kept them or have you already broken them?   If not, good luck, if you have give promises a shot.  They are way easier to keep.

  1. I like your resolutions. I have made none this year. It just feels like it's going to be one of those take it as it comes years.

  2. Those are some great promises to make to yourself! Good luck - I need to get back into scrapbooking too!

I tagged you in a post on my blog if you'd like to play along! :)

  3. I totally want to get back to teh scrap book thing. maybe if it gets to cold next month I will be stuck inside and work on it some more.

  4. I need to be better about meal planning as well. All too often I throw something together at the last minute & when I do that it isn;t usually the healthiest choice.

I also want to be a healthier me, my body is lugging around way too many extra pounds & I am getting fed up with it. I hope that I am fed up enough to stick to losing some of it!

  5. great list of promises i like the meal planning idea i need to do more of that so we can stay on budget more and i also like the exercise one to i need to get back to my bike riding

  6. Great goals!
Since karma seems to be kicking my butt this new year I think my only goal will be to get by.

I love to get comments! They make my heart go pitter-pat! Go on comment--I'll do my best to go give your blog some love too!
