WWTK--Let's be Friends

We want to know time! This week is all about friends. This is something I ahve difficulties with. In my town, people rotate in and out--the pitfalls of a college town. I have few friends--in real life.  It's one of the reasons I turned to blogging.
  1. I have found myself jealous/envious of this friend because... Of the ease she makes friends. My friend C makes friends so easily.  I have such serious issues making friends that seeing someone make friend easily always make me envious.
  2. I admire this one for her _________ (insert admirable quality) and tell us about them.  C. again.  She has a very wry sense of humor and it meshes well with my own.
  3. I really love this blog friend because...  I have so many blog friends but one that really stands out is Maya from Myya Says.  She is a mom to girls but I have had some great email conversations with her.
  4. I was stuck on a desert island I would want to be with this friend... Stacy from SLMPetersen--We go way back.  We have a lot in common, but enough different that we mesh well.  Any conversation just picks up where it left off.  We would not lack for things to talk about on that desert island.  And cooking?  Well that would be a very fun adventure for the two of us.
  5. I think the best qualities in a friend are...  Loyalty, honesty, and the ability to forgive the lapses that inevitably happen.
Now go link up with Mamarazzi and Crazymama, the lovely hosts of this here party.

WWTK: Bloggity, Blog, Blog, Blog

We Want To Know time again.  this week the questions come from Mamarazzi.  She's curious about our blogs.  So here we go:

{1} Please describe your blog. Does it fall into one category or many? How has it changed from post one?  My blog is my place to vent, talk about my family, document what goes on in my life.  it's also a place I can make friends, which I'm horrible at in real life.  I feel that my writing has gotten better since I started. But my blog still falls under a family life blog, mostly.

{2} What 3 things do you LOVE about blogging?  Meeting the people who blog.  I feel like I have made some great friends, I just need to get together with them face to face still.  I love having a place to rant about the crazy family I have, the nutty neighbors, a place to vent.  I love the conversations I have with other bloggers about things I have said on my blog or other blogs--the conversation makes it so much better.

{3} What 3 things do you DISLIKE about blogging?  Sometimes I feel that I rely on Memes too much, but I try to choose ones that let me be creative with them.  I dislike the bloggers who attack other bloggers.  I dislike some of the drama that comes out sometimes.  It seems so middle school, but some people never got over that I guess.

{4} What 3 things do you WISH OTHER BLOGGERS would do? Any tips for them?  Enabling email is a nice one.  Being able to respond to comments is nice.  For new bloggers--comment, comment, comment.  this is advice I got at the beginning and it makes a difference.  Stay true to yourself.  Blog what you know.

{5} I know we all have lots of blogs we read, but what are 3 blogs you never miss? Picking just three is tough.  I think I'll go with:  Second Blooming, SLMPetersen, and Amalah.

Now go check out the other answers.  And go see Crazymama, shew's hosting too!

WWTK--Mom, Mom!

Time to answer up the questions with MAmarazzi and Crazymama again.  This week Crazymama asked a couple of questions and the rest came from link participants.  One even came from little old me.  How exciting.

1. What would be your ideal way to spend Mothers day? Ideal way?  Oh, I'd love to have breakfast with my guys, go for a drive in the mountains, have a nice grill out with my mom and Nick's mom and then a lovely soak in the tub with a glass of wine a good book.  Or go camping like we did last year.  Just spend time with family.
2. Which would you rather receive actual gifts or gifts of service?  I like getting a small gift.  I don't need extravagant every year, but a token to recognize the day is nice.  This year I'm hoping for a replacement for the Mom pendant I lost last week.
She @ http://she-she-says.blogspot.com wants to know:
3. How do you juggle it all? How many different "hats" do you wear and how do you accomplish all you have to do?  I wear several hats.  Mom, wife, friend, coworker, geologist, clean up crew, cook, bottle washer, etc. the only way to keep it all straight is organization and lists--at least for grocery shopping and meals. As to the rest, I have a great helper in Nick.  He is willing to pitch in with cooking and cleaning around the house.  He does get most of the outside bulidy type things though.
Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/ (this is me!) wants to know:
4. What was your "Oh no, I'm turning into my mom" moment?  For me, it was the moment I caught myself licking my thumb to wipe a smudge off Turbo when he was a toddler.  I hated when my mom did that to me as a kid and here I was doing it to Turbo.  After that, wet wipes were always handy.
Natalie @ http://wibblywobblyme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
5. What should you be doing right now instead of participating in today's WWTK linky?  Putting a little boy to bed.  He's wheedled ten more minutes out of me, but he's headed there soon.

Now go answer the questions and link up.  Mamarazzi and Crazymama would love to see you.

WWTK--Anniversary Edition

This week is the the celebration of one whole year of We Want to Know.  Mamarazzi has decided that we are asking the questions this week:

The first question is from yours truly. I want to know:
1. What is your quirkiest habit?  I tie knots in my hair.  I twist it around the fingers of my left hand and then twist it on itself and end up with knots on occasion that I can't untie.  I'm constantly playing with my hair.  The sad thing is that Bruiser plays with his hair too.  When he is really tired or way stressed, he will grab a lock on the front of his head and twirl it and play with it.
D @ http://beneaththesurfaceanewbeginning.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
2.  What TV show do you always stop to watch? Mythbusters or Big Bang Theory.  Either one will make just about any of us happy to watch and they are shows we all agree on.
Vanessa @ http://www.jfamforlife.com wants to know:
3.  What do you miss most about being a kid?  The care free part of it.  I didn't have to worry about getting bills paid, or what was for dinner, or laundry or any of that stuff.  The fact that I seemed to have hours each day to do what I wanted--I miss that.
Jolene @ http://richjmylife.blogspot.com wants to know:
4. How many siblings do you have? I have one brother.  He is 4 and half year younger than me.  We are not particularly close.  He's made some choices in his life that I don't really agree with and well, he's living far away and we don't see much of him.  That is why we have cultivated friends as "family" and our boys have cousins and aunts and uncles that are honorary.  These days you get to make the family if you want to.
Kenzie @ http://cbmommyhood.blogspot.com wants to know:
5. How do you get yourself out of a funk?  I find funny things to look at on the web--I Can Has Cheeseburger (LOLcats) and Cheeseburger After Dark both give me a laugh. (Warning, Cheeseburger After dark gets raunchy, just wanted to let you know so I don't inadvertently offend anyone.  They keep the clean stuff on LOLcats.  The naughty stuff goes on After Dark.  It's funny, just not safe for children.)  I also like Dear Blank, Please Blank.  Smiling and laughing help with the funk.  A glass of wine and some chocolate helps too.

Now go link up.  Mamarazzi is offering a $25 Target gift card this week to one lucky linker.  What are you waiting for?  Grab the questions and link up!
Mamarazzi and Crazymama are the hosts of this fun get together.

WWTK--It's Been a Year?

It's been a full year of We Want To Know.  A full year of avoiding the things I should be doing to answer the semi random questions from Mamarazzi and friends.  This week the questions are from Crazymama.

1. What is your favorite go to breakfast recipe for special occasions or company?  We make a full on breakfast of scrambled eggs, hash browns (from scratch) and bacon or sausage.  Sometimes we make biscuits and gravy.  Either one works, depending on who we are having for breakfast.

2. What is your policy for kids that don't want to eat what you are serving?  My boys have to try one bite and then eat what they like on the plate.  We don't make different meals for everyone.  I am not a short order cook.  Every so often that find that their tastes have changed and they like something the previously hated.

3. Do you take treats to neighbors? What kind?  Not often.  We will take things like salad for dinners when we get invited, but rarely do we take homemade treats.

4. What is your most used spice in your cupboard? (Besides salt or pepper)  Garlic powder.  Goes on or in just about anything.  I also use a lot of thyme.

5. What is your favorite fruit ? Do you have a Fave veggie?  Favorite fruit would have to be sweet cherries in the summer.  Favorite veggie, umm, artichokes most definitely.

Bonus question....

6. It was tax day here in the US. Did you get a return? How do you spend it?  We got a return and paid off the new bedroom furniture with it.

Now go see Mamarazzi and Crazymama and grab the questions for yourself.

WWTK--If...

Well, it's We Want To Know time again.  While I am not back to work just yet (another day at home won't hurt me) I'm joining in the fun and answering Mamarazzi's If questions.

  1. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?  Most definitely Big Bang Theory.  Even if I'm one of the dirt people (geologist) according to Sheldon, I'd love to spend some time with them.  If I had to choose a reality show it would be the Mythbusters.  They do such cool things.
  2. If you could be guaranteed one thing in life besides money, what would you ask for?  Health.  Being healthy makes life way easier to live.
  3. If you had to name the most terrifying event in your life thus far, what would it be?  When I had Kidney stone surgery and then spent eight days in the hospital recovering.  Had a couple of close calls during that stay.  It was absolutely no fun and more than a bit scary.
  4. If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be?  I'd like to be able to be in two places at once.  Then I could be with my kids when they need me but still be at work too.  A lot more stuff would get done around the house too.
  5. If you could "uninvent" one thing in the world, so it would no longer exist, what would you choose?  Hmm.  There is so much to choose from.  It's a controversial choice, but I think I'd get rid of organized religion.  I have nothing against religion, but I dislike organized religion and all the trouble and strife it has caused.  Just think of all the wars that could have been avoided if one organized religion had not wanted to destroy another organized religion.  I'm more the live and let live kind.
OK, so now you can go answer the questions and join up with Mamarazzi and Crazymama.

WWTK--Easter Bunnies and Eggs

Time to do the We Want to Know thing!

{1} What is your favorite Easter tradition?  I like dying eggs with the boys, having the Easter Bunny come and hide them and getting up with them to see what the bunny left them.  It's fun to watch the magic with them.

{2} Tell us about your Easter meal.  It varies from year to year.  Some years it's a ham, some years we've done a pork loin or leg of lamb on the rotisserie.  This year I think we are going to do a Prime rib for just us.  Baked potatoes or sweet potatoes and maybe asparagus or artichokes.  Sounds yummy to me.

{3} Do you decorate for Easter?  No.  I'm not one for decorating for holidays except for Halloween and Christmas.  I'm just not that organized.

{4} Your Easter basket is not complete without....Chocolate.  Of any sort, but especially dark chocolate.  Most especially Dark chocolate Turtles.  Yum!

{5} Are you getting an Easter dress?  No.  But I do want to go jeans shopping.  For new jeans, not used ones.  I need a couple of pairs.  So I'm going to do that this month.

Now go link up with Mamarazzi and Crazymama and see what they have to say about Easter.

WWTK--Money, Money, Money

So Mamarazzi is asking all about money this week:
{1} What is something that you currently spend money on that you consider a splurge or frivolous?  My weekly GNOs are a bit of a splurge. Necessary, but splurgy none the less.
{2} Tell us about your first paying job. How old were you?  Well there was babysitting, but somehow I don't think that's what's meant.  My first real hourly paying job was working at the snack bar at the local outdoor pool the summer I was 15.  The church youth group ran it and I worked there three or four days a week that summer.  The next paying job I had was the following summer at the same pool as a lifeguard.
{3} Do you plan date nights and extras into a monthly/weekly budget?  We try to plan for a few extras but don't get that much time to go without the boys, so we don't do it that often.
{4} Share one of your money saving tips with us.  Always take a list to the grocery store, don't try to wing it.  And never send a man to the store without a detailed list.
And finally, Christine @ http://cmgendreau.blogspot.com wants to know:
{5} If you won the lottery - would you spend it frivolously or use what you need and save the rest? Why?  It would depend on how much I won.  Let's go with millions.  I'd pay off the credit cards and then invest and then I think Nick and I would travel, but still keep our jobs--you've gotta keep yourself grounded.  Nick would want to buy a bugger house and I'd want a shopping spree of some sort.  Mostly we'd do a bit of both, spend, but then save the rest and try to use it wisely.  We don't want to burn through it in no time and be broke again.

Now go see how everyone else does with money and visit Mamarazzi and Crazymama.

WWTK--Techy Stuff

We Want to Know time again.  I'm trying to deal with a sick kid and a sick hubby.  Things are way fun at our house.  Don't you wish you were here?  No?  I don't blame you.
Crazymama is asking this week:

{1} How many phones do you have in your household? (cell, smart, land lines) We have two cell phones, one portable land line phone and that is about it. Oh, we have the old school phone that works off the phone line because when the power gores out, it usually still works.
{2} Are you brand loyal? (Apple or Android or something else?)  We really aren't all that brand loyal.  We go for price and quality.  We don't do Apple, though.  We are PC people.
{3} Would you rather talk on the phone, text or email?  It depends on what I'm doing.  For some things a text is very convenient, for others it's better to talk on the phone.  Email is good for work and such.
{4} What do you think of Video chat? what do you use? (skype, facetime? google talk?)  We have skyped with family in New York, but don't really use it at all.
Fulfilled Mommy wants to know:
{5}What is your favorite gadget? (Tablet, cell phone, etc.)  I like my netbook.  It makes blogging and internet surfing easy and convenient.  For some things a laptop is better, but the netbook does most everything I need to.
{6} If you had to pick just one technological gadget, (computer, cell phone, smart phone, tablet)and it was the only one you could use for a year, which would you pick? explain why.  My net book.  It would give me the connection I needed to blog and check the things on line that I keep up with.  Cell phone I can do without, I don't have a smart phone (they intimidate me) and we don't have a tablet.

Mamarazzi is very busy with a project this week, so her hubby Big Daddy is stepping in to answer the questions at her place.  Crazymama will be checking everyone's answers though.

WWTK--What do You Want to Eat?

Time once again to avoid the necessary for the fun.  This week the questions come from several people, check out the links for each question asker:
{1}Ricki Jill wants to know:
I would like to know what the WWTK's  participants serve when they have company for dinner.  What are your go-to recipes?  I don't really have a go to recipe for company.  I have made things I like to eat and think that they would like to eat.  My Chuck Wagon Ribs, Clam Chowder and Chicken Cordon Blue(the easy version) are all meals that we have shared with friends.
{2}Jill wants to know:
If you were told it was time for your last meal, what would you order up or make for yourself?  My last meal?  I'd go for lobster and ribeye steak with baked potato and an artichoke.  For Dessert, I'd have cheesecake and maybe a really good Captain  and coke.
{3}Suzanne wants to know:
Sugar or alcohol? or more delicately Drink or Dessert?  It tends to lean more toward drink.  Of course I like to have drinks like Grasshoppers which are dessert and drink combined.
{4}Myya wants  to know:
What is your favorite Crock Pot Recipe?  I have lots of crock pot recipes.  I love to make Pork shoulders for shredded pork, corned beef in the crock pot is fabulous, But my favorite thing to throw in is Bratwurst, sauerkraut and chunked potatoes and let it cook all day.  The flavors sort of meld and mingle and nothing really stands out but it all tastes great.
{5} Mamarazzi is having a hard time getting breakfast in everyday so she wants to know:
What are you eating for breakfast these days?  I am having greek yogurt and homemade granola.  I really don't like breakfast and can't do cold cereal (I hate sweet milk and don't like soggy cereal).  I do enjoy bacon and eggs, but that takes time I don't have in the mornings (except on weekends).  I'm doing good to get the boys fed before I leave for work, so I need a portable breakfast.  I'll be able to check out what other people put up and maybe get some other ideas.

So there you have it.  Answer up the questions for yourself and join in the fun.  Mamarazzi and Crazymama are hosting, but do give some love to the other question askers this week.

WWTK--Birthdays!

Crazymama is asking the questions this week:

  1. What is your favorite way to celebrate birthdays?  We tend to keep birthdays relatively low key.  No wild parties, crazy activities or anything like that.  I like going camping for mine if it's close enough to a weekend, or just dinner out with the fam.
  2. Which is more fun to celebrate--yours or your loved ones?  Well, mine of course.  I like getting stuff.
  3. What is your dessert of choice for birthday celebrating?  I'm not a fan of most frosting on cake, but I do like whipped cream frosting on chocolate cake.  But I really prefer cheesecake.
  4. Tell us about your best birthday you've ever had.  I have not really had too many memorable birthdays.  When I turned 35 Nick set up a sort of surprise party and that was fun.  Other than that, none really stand out.
  5. Share your favorite birthday song.  Can I go on record as saying I don't really like Happy Birthday.  I don't really have a birthday song.
  6. Bonus Question:  If you could pick any age to be again, how old would you be and why?  I'd go back to 26.  Nick and I had been married for a year, I was starting a pretty good job and life was pretty good.
Now go see Mamarazzi and Crazymama for more birthday question answering fun.

WWTK--Getting with the Random

Mamarazzi is asking the questions this week:

  1. What are your top 3 blogging tips for other bloggers?  Comment, comment, comment.  Really, the more you get out there, the more you interact, the better your blog will be read.  Join a few link parties and comment on those.  Be present and courteous.
  2. What book have you read lately that you would recommend?  Oh, I read so much.  Which one to chose? I'd have to recommend Nora Roberts The Next Always.
  3. What is a physical feature you have been complimented on?  I've gotten the general you look nice compliments, but specific compliments?  Nick has complimented my tush.  He likes it.
  4. What color is your toothbrush?  It's an electric one so white and green.
  5. What question would you like to add to a future WWTK?
  • What was your "Oh no, I'm turning into my mom" moment?
  • What is your quirkiest habit?
  • Favorite 80s movie?
  • Name one thing you'd like to tell your ten year ago self.
  • Who is your favorite celebrity?
  • Have you ever had or thrown a surprise party?
  • When was the last time you tried something new?
  • Name the last thing you fixed.
  • Do you prefer to read the book or see the movie?
  • What is you favorite cure for cabin fever?
And those are my questions.  What can I say?  I've been participating in question link parties for over two years now.  I gots lots of resources to pull from.
Now go link with Mamarazzi and Crazymama for more question answering fun.

WWTK--Pampering ME

And here we go with questions from the lovely Crazymama:
  1. What is your go to color if you paint your nails?  Do your toes and fingers match?  I don't paint my nails, they are so thin and flexible that polish just chips right off them.  I paint my toes and the color depends on my mood when I look at the colors available from my stash.  And I only paint them in the summer when I'm wearing flip flops and sandals.
  2. Have you ever gone for a mani/pedi?  How often do you go?  I spent about two years getting acrylic nails done before I had Turbo.  Then I gave up on it.  I have had one professional pedi.  Some day I'd like to do it again.
  3. Do you color your hair? Do you have a salon do it or do you do it yourself?  I have had my hair colored once professionally.  I have done an at home demi permanent color twice.  I a bit chicken to do anything permanent to it.  I do have it permed professionally once a year though.
  4. Facials...have you ever had one?  Nope.
  5. Would you or have you ever done botox?  Nope.
  6. Beauty knows no pain, do you believe in waxing, electrolysis, eyelash extensions, anti-aging creams, micro-dermabrasions, peels, botox?  I wax my legs at home, but only my legs.  Not brave enough to try waxing anything more sensitive.  As for the rest, I don't really do any of them and probably won't, but that does not mean other people shouldn't.  What ever makes you happy.

WWTK--Love is in the Air

Time to play along with Mamarazzi, Crazymama and Queso for another edition of We Want To Know.  This week it's all about love and Valentine's Day.

  1. How was your Valentine's Day?  Pretty mellow.  We went out for lunch and I got Nick a card, but that was about it, or so I thought.  When I got home Nick and the boys had made me a card with conversation hearts.  So I got a card and candy and lunch.  Not bad for a Valentine's Day.
  2. What is your favorite flower? Did your honey get them for you?  I like roses and carnations.  Nope, no flowers here.  They just end up dying anyway.  Yeah, not a romantic at heart here.
  3. Was Valentine's Day a big deal when your were a kid?  No, not really.  I did the card thing at school until 5th grade then it really became a day that emphasized that I was not too popular.  Being a teenager and not having a boyfriend makes Valentine's Day a hated day really.
  4. Did you put up any Valentine's day decoration's?  Nope.  I'm doing good to get Christmas decorations up.  I just don't do Valentine's decorations.  Or just about any other holiday, except for Halloween.  I'm doing good to keep the house clean.   Decorating for holidays just doesn't happen.
  5. Do you have any Valentine's Day traditions?  Not really.  My mom gets a gift for the boys, but we don't do anything special.  The anniversary of Nick and my first date is the end of February.  We tend to celebrate that instead of doing Valentine's day all crazy.  Nineteen years the end of this month.  Not bad for college sweethearts. (Yeah I'm proud of that one.)
So go join up and answer the questions for yourself.  The ladies hosting would love to see you.

WWTK--Dinner Plans?

Time to avoid those things you really should be doing and join in the fun of We Want To Know Wednesday.
Mamarazzi is asking the questions this week:
  1. What is for dinner tonight (bonus for sharing the recipe)?  I'm thinking tacos.  Or maybe chicken or steak salads.  Kinda depends on what we feel like when we get home and what will thaw out quickly.  Sorry no recipe for either--Tacos are pretty self explanatory and the salad, well just cook or grill a chicken breast or steak and slice it up and put it on top of your favorite green salad.  Easy peasy.
  2. Share something you are looking forward to.  We have nothing really big on the horizon.  We have tentative plans to take the boys to Denver for a visit to the zoo and aquarium, but those plans are still very nebulous.  It's just a hard time of year to plan anything because the weather does not always cooperate.  I am looking forward to going camping this summer, but that's a long way away.
  3. What are your thoughts on re-gifting?  I have nothing against it if you do it carefully.  This means making sure nothing is left in/on the gift that shows it was a gift already.  And you have to make sure the person you are giving it to has little or no contact with the person you got it from.  The uniqueness of the gift also comes into play.  One of a kind gifts are harder to regift than say, an extra toaster or Ipod.
  4. How often do you rearrange your furniture?  The living room furniture gets rearranged about every six months or so.  Just to shake it up a bit.  Also to uncover the heat vents in the winter.
  5. Share a picture from your cellphone or camera.  One of the most recent pictures I have is of Bruiser riding the "range".
Howdy Ma'am!
Go see Mamarazzi, Crazymama and Queso for more WWTK Wednesday fun.

WWTK--Cleaing House

Time once again to procrastinate all the terrible important things I could be doing and join in the fun of We Want To Know.  This week the questions are from Crazymama.
  1. Fantasy style--money is no object--if you could pick one type of help: Maid, Nanny, personal chef; which would it be and why?  If money were no object, I'd go for all of them.  If I had to choose just one it would be the maid.  I like spending time with my kids and I like cooking, but cleaning, yeah, not so much.
  2. What is your least favorite household chore?  Cleaning the bathrooms.  I live with guys. Enough said.
  3. What is your least loathed (or favorite) household task/daily chore?  I can't say I have a favorite.  I don't mind doing dishes and vacuuming.  What I hate is the never ending aspect of it all.  You get it done and not ten minutes later it needs doing all over again.
  4. What is your favorite cleaning supply?  Do you have any magic cleaning tips to share with your readers?  Favorite cleaning supply?  Wine.  A TAB(Tasty Adult Beverage) or two makes any job easier. I'm not one to have a magic trick for cleaning.  What I'm looking for is the clean everything cleaner.  Haven't found it yet.
  5. What is your usual household chore avoidance activity?  Beside playing along with Mamarzzi, Crazymama and Queso and WWTK?  Going for a drive or having an activity for all the family to do together.  Works like a charm every time.  However the chores are always waiting for me.  Stupid dish cleaning elves and house cleaning fairies have yet to find their way to my house.
Now go link up your answers and let us know about how you feel about the household chores.

WWTK--Favorite stuff

We Want To Know time again.  Mamarazzi is asking this week:
1)  What is your favorite room in your house and why? (bonus points for pictures)  I have to say our master bedroom.  It is calm, cool, quiet (it's in the basement) and with the attached bathroom, just about the perfect master suite.  (Sorry no pictures, it's not exactly showcase ready, the laundry mountain is growing.)
2)  What is your favorite time of day and why?  It's a toss up.  I like the going home form work time--especially on Friday, but the time after both boys are in bed is pretty good too.  I like the going home from work time because I get to see my little boys again.  I like the after bed time because I don't have to be on duty to police squabbles and such.
3)  What is your favorite genre of music (or band/singer) and why?  Right now I like country music, but I still like the 80s rock and roll I grew up with.  The country I like today reminds me of the rock I listened to in high school.  It's fun and I really identify with it.
4)What is your favorite go to snack?  Is it something you keep on hand?  I have sunflower seeds to nibble on.  Yes they are salty, but they are better for me than munching chips and such while I read.  I try to keep them on hand, especially if I'm reading a lot.
5)What is your favorite form of exercise or way to keep moving?  I like dancing and swimming.  I also like to walk.  Finding time, motivation and opportunity all at the same time is somewhat more challenging.

So answer the questions and join up with Mamarazzi, Crazymama and Queso.

WWTK--Feeling Good!

Questions this week come from Queso:
  1. Which of the following phrases characterizes how you live your life?
    1. You only live once
    2. Test the water before jumping in
    3. Stability is the key to life
I think I’d have to go with b.  I have no problem jumping in, but I want to know something about the landing pad.
  1. What were you doing the last time you had a really good laugh?  Watching Bruiser watch the silly zip line pig and go Wheee with it.
  2. Who is the last person you hugged?  Bruiser.  Being two and potty training is tough.  He needs mommy fixes every so often.  He cuddles well too.
  3. What song always makes you happy when you hear it?  I have so many songs that make me happy.  But for pure fun and silliness, I love They Might be Giants album Flood.  The songs all just sort of run together and it reminds me of when I first met Nick.  Good silly fun.
  4. What's the first thing you thought about this morning?  The fact that Turbo needs to fill out a food diary for school and we have yet to start it and it's due tomorrow.  Ack, now I have anxiety about my son's homework.  Fantastic!

WWTK--Random stuff

Time to answer the questions.  Crazymama is asking this week:
  1. What is your most commonly used word or phrase when you are frustrated?  I use several, it depends on who's listening.  Around the boys I censor myself but I have been know to use Fewmets (dragon dropping).  I can also curse with the best of them.  Nothing feels as good as a good curse when you stub your toe or bang an elbow.
  2. What random question do you usually get from strangers or casual acquaintances?  Are you done having kids?  Are you going to try for a girl?  Nope, nope, and nope.  Two and through for us.
  3. Did you ever correspond by mail with anyone?  Do you still have the letters?  When I was in the third grade my teacher went to Hawaii for Christmas or spring break and sat next to a third grade teacher from Australia.  They arranged for their classes to do a pen pal project.  I corresponded with my pen pal until I was about 20.  And yes, I still have some of the letters.
  4. Do you dance in public?  Why or why not?  When I get the chance.  I like dancing.  However I rarely get the chance anymore.
  5. What is your favorite kind of lip balm?  Carmex.
And that covers the questions for this week.  Quite the random bunch.  Go answer for yourself and link up.

WWTK--Dream Homes and Blogging

Here are my answers for this week:

  1. What do you love about blogging?  The lovely people that I have met.  I hope to be able to meet some in the real world but I feel I know so many more people now.  Since I have troubles with friend making in my college town--people change over about every four to five years--blogging has helped me make friends, have an outlet that's not just my husband, and side step all the awkward face to face stuff.
  2. What is your favorite scent of candle/air freshener?  It changes with the seasons.  In the winter I love the scent of cinnamon or apples.  In the summer I love the smell of fresh fruit or flowers.  Because most air fresheners are too strong to begin with and then to weak to end with, we stick to candles.  Yankee candles mostly.  They smell good, the scent carries, and we can use them when we need them.
  3. How would you describe your style?  Casual mom.  Both in my wardrobe and in my home.
  4. What are 3 things your dream home would have that your current home doesn't have?  A larger back yard.  A better set up kitchen and dining room.  An attached two car garage.
  5. Do you look at your keyboard when you type?  Most definitely.  Not even spell check can help if I don't.
Go join the lovely ladies hosting this shindig and join in.  Mamarazzi, who asked the questions this week, Queso and Crazymama.
