Random Tuesday Thinking

Tuesday is looking fine.  It's not Monday, so that makes it better all around.  It also means it's time for random thoughts.  Here we go:

  • Potty training sucks.  We have peeing down pretty good, but the pooping, well that's a whole nother thing.  In that he won't poop on the potty.  One of these days I'll get to hear, "Come wipe my butt"  Now that's music to my ears.  Yes, I am a deluded mommy.
  • Taking out lathe and plaster is a horrible dirty job.  Our kitchen wall is back to studs.  All the dirt, coal dust, and 85 year old plaster is out of the house.  Nick did a fantastic job keeping the mess contained and doing all the dirty stuff.

  • The new sink got here today.  It's huge.  Doesn't take much to thrill me, just a deep, shiny, stainless steel sink.  With a sexy tall faucet, and a soap dispenser.  Sigh.  Doing the dishes will be fun (for the first few days).
  • Network TV is still not my first pick but it makes for a diverting evening when there's nothing else really on.  Monday night TV stinks.
  • Truly, the bed becomes most comfortable just before you have to get up.
  • I'm really liking the handiness of the smart phone camera.  It's way easier to get photos for the ol' blog from it than the regular camera.  I'd still like to have a digital SLR one day--but that might have to be when boys are older and I have more time and less worry about little hands messing it up.
So what's your random for Tuesday?  Post and link up with Stacy.

  2. Monday night TV does suck. The only thing we watch is Antiques Roadshow.

Sometimes, I swear, that my camera phone takes better photos than my actual camera.

  3. Am with ya on the bed!
Potty training might kill me. Or my daughter. Seriously WTH is the deal?! She can but WILL NOT. we just started the "glitter fairy". When uses the potty she gets to dump glitter into it and then watch it swirl away

  5. Your talk of your remodel sent shivers down my spine. I think I am permanently traumatized from our last remodeling efforts. I would rather live with 50 year old tile than go through another remodel! I hope you survive it better than I! ;)

  10. I would be thrilled with a new sink too! Ha, I know what you mean about the chores being fun for a little while. That's how it was when we got the new washer/dryer. Now laundry still sucks, but my washer/dryer makes this cute little meddly when it's done, which is kind of cool.

  11. You are so right about the bed being most comfortable right before you have to get out of it! I thought that very thing this morning.

I hope that you take lots of pictures of your kitchen over the course of the remodeling. It might make me brave enough to try remodeling my kitchen!

  13. I am so excited about your kitchen remodel! When we remodeled the upstairs bathroom, we decided to just drywall over the horsehair lathe and plaster - is there a reason you removed yours? Curious minds want to know! :) Can't wait to see how your kitchen turns out! I'm a tad jealous - we've been wanting/needing to remodel our kitchen, but haven't gotten around to it. Now that we'll be selling the house next year, we're just going to do some basic updating (counter top, sink, faucet, cupboard doors and a fresh coat of paint). Hopefully our next house will have my dream kitchen that we won't stall 9 years to update. ;)

Potty training can be so frustrating - I'll know you've finally successfully gotten a butt wipe request when I hear loud cheering coming from your direction. ;)
