Random Tuesday Thoughts

OK, so It's Tuesday.  Random up and go see Keely to link up.  You won't be sorry, or maybe you will, which ever get your random out.

Well evidently the bad luck did not take my suggestion to go to Timbuktu.  Our refrigerator died on Friday.  This necessitated a trip to Sears for a  new one on Saturday.  We got it all set up ourselves, saved on delivery costs, they dropped it off, we got it in the house and all hooked up for water and such.  It's fancy--at least fancier than the old one.  Nick and I marveled it was so quiet when it ran.  The next morning it was still quiet but not cold.  Well let's read the directions a bit more closely.  This fridge has a display setting which needs to be shut off.  I did so and it's not so quiet now, but it is cold.  Now if only the washer will hold out (knock on wood, lots of wood).

We have flooding here.  This is unusual for us to have as much water as we have right now.  I'm happy we have the water but maybe not as much as we have right now.  Of course the river that flows through our town is not really big to begin with.  Most people back east would laugh and call our river a creek.  Right now it looks like a river and then some.

Turbo decided that reading pages in a clockwise manner was the way to read Red Fish, Blue Fish, One Fish Two Fish.  I'm not sure where he got the idea but arguing about it with Grandma doesn't gain him any points.  Kid is going to send me straight to the funny farm before too long.

Nick's birthday is Monday so he gets two days to do what ever he wants--mostly.  He wants to go camping but we are not sure if the weather will cooperate.  He might have to come up with something else to do for fun this weekend.

OK so that's my random for the week.  Go see Keely, now, go on, go!

  5. My fridge went a couple of weeks ago and off to Sears I went. We too marvel at its beauty. It's a sad, sad day when appliances make me happy.

    Happy RTT!

  8. Sucks that you had to get a new appliance, but at least you don't have to clean it for a while, right? :-)

  13. good luck on the fridge!

My mom was having one of those weeks where everything broke. She spends half the year in FL and came home to NJ after 5 months to find basement flood damage, a leaking toilet (after she turned the water on, not the whole time thank goodness) and a broken washer. She went to hang up the dripping clothes from the washer and her clothes line broke.

there are just days like that. Such ugh.

  14. I hope the weather cooperates for the birthday weekend. We have had so much rain here it is getting on my dang nerves. Luckily we haven't had flooding to cause problems.

  15. We live in Southern California. We're excited when it rains enough to get the rain gutters dripping ... flooding is beyond my understanding!

Good luck the new 'fridge ... I absolutely love new appliances. And, like someone said above, enjoy the clean crisper drawers while they last!
