Random Tuesday Thoughs--Birthdays and Such.

randomtuesday

Well let's just jump right into the random for this week.  Turbo turns seven today.  Seven.  How exactly did that happen?  It can't be seven years since we became first time parents.  Let me check...Holy cow, is has been seven years!  Hooray for us--the kid is still alive.
He's so grown up now.

We had his party this past weekend.  Eight seven year olds for two hours in our house.  We survived without major problems and we didn't even drink heavily.  The Scooby party was a success.  Tonight we are having the fam over to celebrate his actual birthday.  It'll be fun.  Treats to school this afternoon.  It's all good.

In other news, we had snow yesterday. Actually we had all the seasons yesterday.  Sunshine in the morning--almost 50 degrees outside.  By lunch the clouds had moved in and it was starting to sprinkle.  Thunder and hail were next and then the hail got a bit harder and smaller, then it was full on snowing.  We got like half an inch of snow.  Today it's sunny again.  OK, so--weather by Sybil anyone?

Have I ever mentioned how much I like cartoons?  Mostly Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo.  I'm so happy I have boys and they give me an excuse to watch Scooby Doo cartoons without looking weird.  I like the classic cartoons but the new Scooby Doo--What's New, Scooby Doo?--are great.  We have all of them on DVD.  Bruiser is almost old enough to enjoy them.  Turbo still watches them.  I will admit that Scooby is great for banishing scary dreams.

Once again, the laundry is done (except for the towels).

We got HD TV and a DVR this weekend.  We cut back our satellite package, but we are getting the Wii from Nick folks--they are giving it to Turbo for his birthday--so we will probably end up with Netflicks and be able to watch Hulu via the Wii.  Giving up the extra channels was mostly worth it.  I'll watch more DVDs now since sometimes there is truly nothing worth watching on--especially during the day.  Looking forward to the Netflicks thing.

Well that's enough random for this week.  Go see Keely for more.  Random is good for you.

Happy Birthday to Turbo!! He's now the same age as Princess Nagger. Time flies by way too fast, doesn't it?

I need to hook up our Wii to the wireless - I didn't realize you can watch Hulu through it along with Netflix! I just need to remember where I stashed the security info for our wireless router... :)

Snow?! Mother Nature really is messing with you, isn't she?

We gave up cable/dish two years ago and we haven't looked back. I watch hulu and other stuff on the computer and we have netflix and just love it. Since we chose not to move our monster of a tv we are without the nextflix for the time being. A tv is on the shopping list, but haven't gotten that far. Don't miss Wyoming weather AT ALL!

I think medals should be given out to parents that survive small boy birthday parties. I always end them thinking never never again. Course the boys end them thinking, I can't wait until next year's! Sigh.

Happy Birthday to Turbo!! I didn't realize that he and Jude are almost the exact same age - Jude turned 7 on May 6! That boy is going to go NUTS over the Wii. It will change his life, but probably drive you crazy. I am with Stacy about hooking up the Wii to the wireless. I bet it's easier than I think it is. What a great idea to do Netflix through the Wii.

Happy Birthday to Turbo! One of the hardest realities of my boys growing up is that I no longer have an excuse to go see those wonderful kid cartoon movies! A few months ago "Ratatoulle" was on tv, so my hubby and I watched it. One of our sons came in and was shocked that we were watching it! Hey, it was pretty good!

Congrats on surviving the first 7 years of parenthood! That is awesome. :)

Snow?! Ack! Okay, well we had a bit 2 weeks ago, but I feel like it was months ago given our current hot weather. ha!

I "heart" HGTV.

Happy happy birthday, Turbo! I don't think I could live without the Food Network. That channel makes my nights end nicely. John hates it though since he says it makes him hungry.
