The aftermath

Christmas is over. I can say with some relief I am glad it's over. We had a lovely day with family. Breakfast with the grandparents and dinner with cousins. Turbo was exhausted by Friday evening. Bruiser had eaten his share of paper and bows and was equally tired.

Nick loved his gifts and he did well for me. He surprised me with some pearl earrings and a peridot and blue topaz necklace. they are lovely and even better they were chosen by him and mean that much more to me. I got some Yankee candles and some other stuff.

Bruiser really likes his ride on toy. He can't make it go but he loves it when we help him move. Turbo got a hot wheels race track and lots of Lincoln logs. He has a whole fort built in his room now.

I have had a bit of let down from the season. I think it is because I have been short on sleep. Bruiser still has not gotten the memo that night time is for sleep. Santa missed that one. I keep hoping that sleep will come and Bruiser teases me with a couple of good nights then bam three nights where he does not sleep so I don't sleep. He will eventually get it won't he? I mean teenagers don't sleep but not usually cause they need their mommy.

Sorry about the tangent above--back to our already scheduled program. New Year's is creeping up on us and we really enjoy New Years Eve with just us at home. More on that later this week.

I hope that every one's Christmas was good if not great and we can all be thankful that it only comes once a year. The feeling should last all year but all that togetherness need only come in small doses.

I think we are all sharing in your relief that at least Christmas is behind us. Now we can focus on celebrating the beginning of a new year and then it's back to normal.

Hope you get some sleep soon.

I hope you are sleeping better. Sleep deprivation is not my friend.

Happy New Year to you and your family! I hope 2010 is an awesome year for you!
