Odd Weekend

It was a very odd weekend.  Well not so odd as just...disjointed, I guess.  Friday Nick and I got an unexpected eveing out, sort of.  Saturday the boys were with Nick's folks and nick adn i got some home improvement done.  Sunday Nick went fishing and I baked and cooked.  Disjointed because it didn't feel like a weekend.
There was supposed to be a team building get together for work after the staff meeting.  The staff meeting ran over, by a lot.  We had to duck out early so we could get Bruiser from the sitter and take him home so Grandma could watch him and Turbo while we went to the team building thing.  Which was supposed to be a drink or two at a local establishment.  It got cancelled, but since Nick and I already had made arrangements for the kids, we went and had a drink anyway.  It was nice.

Saturday the boys headed to Papa and Nana's house.  They were gone all morning.  Nick decided to get going on tiling the laundry room.  It looks so much better now.  We still have some more to do but since that requires moving a freezer, we got done what we could during this effort.

Saturday evening we headed over to a friends house for dinner.  TABs flowed and a good time was had by all.  Nick made plans to go fishing Sunday morning.  I wished him all the luck and was quite happy to stay home and do the grocery shopping--it was cold and windy out there.  Not my idea of a good time, but they had fun.  They caught four fish and catching always makes for a fun time.
The excellent catch.

I spent Sunday keeping an eye on Bruiser and baking cookies and banana bread.  I also made a great batch of clam chowder.  It was enjoyed by everyone but Bruiser.  He's a bit picky about potatoes. He doesn't even really like french fries.
Sunday ended on a migraine.  I love winter weather changes.  They do such lovely things to my head. So all in all it seemed like an odd weekend, fun, but odd.
So how was your weekend?  Fun filled, or more on the quiet side?  Or was it a bit disjointed like mine?

  1. Are you going to do the 12 days of Christmas swap? I'm thinking about it...

  2. I had big plans to make a soup or something in the crock pot but they fizzled.

  3. While I still got lots accomplished this weekend, it still was filled with rest and relaxation, and I so enjoyed it! Probably going to be the last quiet weekend before Christmas, so I soaked it right up. I hope yours was relaxing and enjoyable too, even though you felt it was disjointed.

  6. A kid that doesn't like French fries? Unheard of! Sorry about the migraine. Our weather has been changing also and it always takes me a few days to get use to it.
