- Watching America's Funniest Videos really makes me feel smart. There are some really silly people out there and they get caught on tape regularly. The kids love watching it.
- Last week I visited Rachel and she was talking about convenience stores she had seen in Texas. I mentioned that we have Kum & Go stores here. I have proof:
- Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I think we are. Let the food coma commence.
- Sounds like most stores have given up on the ridiculous opening times and are just going to be open Thanksgiving night. I plan on going shopping, but we are going early Friday morning, not Thanksgiving.
- Went to the eye doctor yesterday. My eyes have not changed since last year, so that's good. Turbo also has dodged the eyeglasses bullet this year. Kid is probably going to end up with them eventually but not yet.
- Bruiser has taken to turning the light on in his room so he can draw. It's a cute reason to find him up, but really I'd prefer he go to sleep. Having him stay up late means he gets up way too early.
- Turbo has been reading. I will wait while the collective gasps quiet down. No really, voluntarily reading. He really enjoys the Bone books. I got them for him at the beginning of the year. He's on book four of ten. They are graphic/comic book style, but sort of a fantasy epic type tale. He is reading and I'm not going to argue with it.
Go see Stacy for more Randoms.
And go see Shawn and Impulsive for Talk to Us Tuesday.
It's nice when kids WANT to read or do things you didn't expect. happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that he wants to read. I love reading and I hope my kid will too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your gas prices, ours is in the upper 3s closer to 4, ugh!
That is an awful name for a gas co. Let's just be glad that k is not a c.
I can't believe they named those convenience stores that. Seriously!?! But I guess... up here we have a chain that are called "Quickies" so I guess that's no better, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteYay for your boy reading! My brother was one of the few boys I knew who loved to read as a kid. Back then it was the RL Stine books that got him going, but he still is a big book fan as an adult, and an avid Stephen King and James Patterson fan. Hopefully Turbo loves it enough to keep it up :)
3.13 for gas?? I'm coming to WY!
ReplyDeleteAnything to get a kid to read is just about okay in my book. Maybe Bruiser is going to be your artist. We tend to stay up late, just an FYI.
ReplyDeleteKnowing my husband he would probably go out of his way to shop at that gas station just so he could giggle every time.
ReplyDeleteOh you are SO funny!!!! Love that you posted that sign!! Seriously, made my day!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, what a name for a gas station...too funny!
ReplyDeleteWe love watching America's Funniest Home Videos too :) They make me feel very smart. Some of the videos I really wonder - what the heck were they thinking!
ReplyDeleteI am so ready to go into a food coma :D I love Thanksgiving!

I feel positively graceful when I watch AFV. My falls are nevet so spectacular!
ReplyDeleteHooray for reading. I read quite a few comic books when I was little, and I credit them for keeping me motivated to read.
graphic/comic books are extremely popular here in Belgium, even with adults. Since my kids hate reading (dyslexia) I'm only thrilled when they are reading those
ReplyDeleteThats how much gas is here too.
ReplyDeleteIm trying to get Bailey to read.. hed rather pretend read but he LOVES to draw :)
