Tuesday again. It kind of snuck up on me this week. But since it's Tuesday, it's time to get my random on.
- And so the potty training continues. We have had some successes. We have had a lot more failures. Well, maybe not failures. Accidents, messes, frustration, anger, mixed with thrills, treats, and down right joy. It's all part of the process. I just wish the process would go faster.
- Turbo has had some focus issues in school. He can do the work, but staying on task is difficult for him. He is very much the Ohh, Shiny! kind of kid. We are going to start working with him more on staying on task and paying attention. We will continue to work with the school and see if we can figure out how to help him.
- Nick saw the chiropractor yesterday. He will go see him again today. With any luck he will be able to turn his head again soon.
- And since I've put out all our miseries (well all the complaints anyway) how about something a bit more light hearted. A week or so ago Bruiser came up stairs from the basement, where Turbo was playing video games and was trying to tell us something. He kept saying what sounded like "turbo something something on the furr." he said this garbled sentence about five times and we had no idea what he meant. I finally asked him to describe what he was trying to tell us. He said "There's poop on the floor downstairs!" And we finally figured out he was trying to tell us that the cat had thrown up on the floor. Yes, he is still speaking a dialect of baby swahili.
- And now for the swap goodies from Beth. She got me some great stuff.

The note that came with it all. |
|
Lovely wrapped goodies. |
|
All the loot. |
- She sent: Chocolate, note pads, mints, a magnet, lens cleaning cloth, recipe cards, bath fizzy, candle, refrigerator note pad, a couple of little boxes that look like candy, bubbles for the boys, and a bookmark. I love it all. Bruiser has laid claim to the bubbles already. Really awesome stuff, thank you so much Beth!
Now if you stuck it out to the end go see
Stacy for more random thoughts.
And go see the lovely ladies who host Talk To Us Tuesday and were the creative minds behind the Seriously Impulsive Swap:
Shawn and
Impulsive.
At least I know now what NOT to get you. ;) LOL. Actually, your box is almost finished but I need 2 more things. And no repeats, which is good to see!
ReplyDeleteswaps are so fun! Looks like you got a great package!! I'm dreading potty training with my daughter-- she keeps taking her diaper off so I am sure we are closer than I thought..
ReplyDeleteThat looks like some great loot from the swap! I hope to take part in another swap someday soon...it's so much fun getting "good" mail! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you got such a cool swap package! How fun. Beth rocks!
ReplyDeleteKeep working with the school...it will pay off! :)
Beth was such a great partner wasn't she! Score for Vandy!
ReplyDeleteStill with the potty training? You poor thing! Well at least you were finallyable to decipher the baby swahili and clean up thect mess.
Thanks for linking up with us and for being a part of our very first swap!
Wow, great stuff! I would say training Sprite took a good year from start to finish. In fact, once in a while, we still have the bed accidents, but from 2 til 3, it was an uphill battle.
ReplyDeleteBeth did GOOD! I love how she wrapped your gifts! I could use some chocolate today.
ReplyDeleteWe are still struggling with potty training but we're getting better. If someone had told me it would be this hard, I might have let her hang out in diapers for another year. GAH! It's beating me down!
Thank you for participating in our swap, Miss Vandy and for linking up! xoxo
Potty training can be such a pain in the rear, can't it? ;) Hopefully things level out soon in that department.
ReplyDeleteTurbo and Princess Nagger are SO much alike it's hysterical - even with the lack of focus in the classroom. I think a lot of it is that she's bored - I bet Turbo has the same problem.
Look at all your cool loot! I can't thank you enough for pointing me in the direction of Shawn and IA, they are both awesome - like you! ;)

wow awesome stuff you did good
ReplyDeleteI feel for Turbo, I was a very focused kid and young adult but sometime in my thirties I hit the --hey, look! A squirrel--- phase
ReplyDeleteLOVE your swap gifts!
Potty training. OY! I do not envy any of your guys going through that phase. My prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteSUPER awesome swap stuff!!
Look at all that great loot. Bubbles! I haven't had a real bubble bath in years. I would stake claim to those too. :-)
ReplyDeleteBaby Swahili cracks me up. They are so cute sometimes!!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you liked the package. :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't know if this would work, but some friends of mine using chocolate kisses as potty training incentive/reward, and that seemed to speed their kids' progress up. Everyone I've ever talked to about it, though, wishes it went faster. :)
Good luck!
Good luck with the potty training. I'm not looking forward to that again!
ReplyDeleteAnd your swap stuff looks fun!
What a great loot you got from Beth and her loot was also awestome! Very fun and maybe it took your mind off the other STUFF?? Good luck.
