Spin Cycle Picnicking

I like the idea of having a picnic basket and going on idea picnics, but the ideal doesn't happen.  We do eat outside often though.  Side of the road picnics on our many road trips:

Fall mountain dirt road jaunt.
There have been others--we will bust out the portable stove, or just do sandwiches.  It's fun and we love being in the mountains--especially the fall.  Few bugs, and good weather make for fun trips down the dirt roads to check out the sights. And for us the sights can include:

We are very lucky to live in a very beautiful part of the world.  WE try to get out to enjoy our greater "backyard" every chance we get.  We usually take food with us when we do and that results in "picnics" even if they aren't the basket of food kind of picnics.
Do you picnic?  Spin it up and link up with Gretchen and Ginny Marie, they would love to have you!

  1. I don't remember the last time I went on a real, honest-to-goodness picnic. I'd sure like to go on one though! Your road-side pitstops look like fun :)

  2. We eat outdoors all the time. Mostly just from the grill here at the house. We camp a lot to so there is those picnics. As far as packing a basket and going on a picnic, I can't recall us ever doing that. Maybe I should add it to my bucket list!

  3. That's just the kind of picnics we do, too! It's so fun to eat outside during road trips.

  4. We do not use a picnic basket. Usually it is a plastic bag and tupperware straight from the frig. Very simple around here.

  5. We have a picnic basket that is very well travelled. I pack our cooking supplies for our long vacations. We, also, have an insulated backpack complete with wine holder, plates, napkins, silverware and wine bottle opener. Fancy, schmancy gift from our son. We carried the backpack sans wine and plates all over Disney world last year. And your road trips are a picnic for the eyes and soul.
