Productive Weekend and MMMM

We had a productive weekend.  But first what we did for the 4th of July.

We paddled 3 miles up a canyon that is part of a local lake. We got far too much sun but had a blast in the process. We will definitely do this again.

There were fireworks later that evening, but we only saw them from a distance.  We were just far too tired to want to deal with traffic by getting closer.  And we are taking the boys to Disney World so they are going to get up close and personal fireworks there.

After that adventure, the rest of the week was relatively quiet.  Saturday Nick got motivated and started the closet in Bruiser's room.  We sort of had to build him a room when we moved into the new house. He now has not only a wall, but a partial closet and a door.  Yep, a real closing door.  Nick hung that this weekend too.
There was haircuts for all the guys this weekend and some hanging out with the neighbors, turned into quite the mini cook out.  Good time were had and a good weekend all the way around.

Now for MMMM.  This week is a freebie week and here's what we have been listening to at home:
Turbo has discovered 80s music and loves this one:
The Bangles with Walk Like an Egyptian:

Bruiser like 80s rock with this as his favorite:

Nick of course loves all kinds of music and since we have the Amazon Fire cube with Alexa he has been having fun calling up music.  We both enjoy this one:
The Proclaimers with I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles):

Have a great week everyone!

  3. Well Girlfriend, you have definitely ROCKED THE HOUSE! Great tunes here I'd say! Bon Jovi's tune is good for exercising in my chair. I do it every day. Doc says it's good for my back anything I can get in, so I have added your Bon Jovi tune to my list. Thanks! Good luck with your son's new room! Sounds like fun! We're very slowly remodeling our basement. I've always wanted that done. So far hubby has done our three boles & tiled part of the floor the rest has rugs. HAVE A GREAT DAY... thanks for sharin' your tunes! ROCK ON MY FRIEND!

  5. Vandy,

Although it looks fun, you won't get me out on the lake in a kayak, a canoe, or motorboat. I purrfectly content to keep my feet planted on solid ground. :) The Bangles "Walk Like An Egyptian" is always great fun to hear and it rekindles a lot of fun 80s memories. Hooray for the renovation project underway! I know your son is thrilled. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me today!

  6. How fun that Bruiser is discovering 80s music. How old is he? Walk Like An Egyptian is a great song and the Bangles were a cool girl band.
Every time I hear the Proclaimers song I think of a funny scene in Identity Thief when Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman were riding in the car and she start singing this song when it comes on the radio. Did you see that movie and remember that scene? It always cracks me up.
And you can't ever go wrong with Bon Jovi...

Great set of songs here. Can't wait to hear what Bruiser discovers next!

  8. I've always been a great 80's fan but it's been years since I've heard that Proclaimers Song or the Bad Medicine song. The Bangles really got me energized for the evening. Hope you had a great week! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
