Random Dozen

OK, it's Wednesday so that means it's time to post your answers to yesterdays random dozen questions.  Go link with Linda at 2nd Cup of Coffee.

1. What is your favorite Mexican dish?  I love Chimichangas, but will go for good tacos anytime.

2. When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate? I was a total procrastinator, still am.  I work well under pressure.  I am trying to instill better practices in my son though--homework when he gets home from school, then play.
3. What is your favorite store for home furnishings?  I don't really have one.  I don't get to shop for that kind of stuff very often.
4. When you were young, did you like school lunches? There were certain things that I liked--Cowboy Hats(chili on Frito's with shredded cheese topping), hamburger gravy, rectangle pizza to name a few.
5. Is religion a crutch? I think religion works well for many people.  I have my own doubts about organized religion though--I've seen entirely too many hypocrites to feel comfortable going to church.
6. In your region, what is the "big" (most popular in the community or state) high school sport?  Our state is large in territory, but small on people.  High school sports of all kinds get lots of attention except in my town.  We have the only four year university in the state here and the high school gets over shadowed by the college all the time.
7. Do you consider yourself rich?  Not in money, but in family and love you bet.
8. Which of these would you have the best chance for success in administering:
A) CPR
B) Heimlich Maneuver
C) Changing a flat tire
A, but I know B as well.  I could probably succeed in changing a tire but it wouldn't be pretty.
9. Which dance would you prefer to learn & why:
A) Salsa
B) Hip Hop
C) Waltz
D) Swing
D, Swing most definitely.  It just looks so fun.
10. What's the worst news you've ever delivered to someone?  I had to tell my mom her dad had died when I was 15.  She was out of town with my brother who was in the hospital(another story) and when she called to check in I got to relay the news my aunt had passed to me about my grandfather.
11. Name something you learned in college that had nothing to do with classes or academics.  A smile will get you much farther than not smiling and it's very easy to do.
12. New variation on an old question: If there's a song in your head that just won't get out, what is your favorite (or most repeated) line in that song?  The song that is stuck in my head today is the new one from The Band Perry  If I Die Young  And the line that sticks the most is "if I die young..."  that's the only one I can remember of the song.  I don't particularly like the song and don't really think it is really country but the singer's voice is nice.  But that one line is just stuck in my head.

  1. I really like the voice of Miss Perry(not Katie but I forget her first name) in that band but I worry about the song. It sounds so pretty but listen to it. She laments that no one listens to anyone until that person is dead and then your thoughts are worth a lot. I want to haer more of her because I lover her voice but that song freaks me out. Too much focus on potentially dying young. What do you think?

  2. Your favorite school lunches sound so nutritious : )

I work well under pressure too and find I'm more creative that way.

    Enjoy your day!

  3. I wish I wasn't such a procrastinater! But when I want something I want it yesterday!
I believe in God and His protection over me however I do not believe that I have to belong to a church to have a relationship with Him.
