Spin Cycle --Just Write, Going Old School

Ok, so, I will admit to being in a bit of a blogging slump.  Ideas are just not flowing.  But, In an effort to pick it up, I'm going to go a bit old school and answer some questions posed over at Emmy Mom and also link this up with Ginny for the Spin Cycle.

Are you young at heart or and old soul? I tend toward the old soul I think.  But I'm balanced by Nick who is young at heart.  We do well together.

Tell me about a movie/book that has changed your life.  I was given the first book in a series of books by David Eddings when I was 14.  I fell in love and that started expanding my reading borders into adult fantasy, rather than the kids books I had been reading.  I am currently reading that same series of books to the guys when we drive.  Turbo is totally hooked.

Would you like to reconnect with any friends you have lost contact with? There is one that I have contact with only via Facebook.  It would be great to see her again in person.  However, she's in Texas.  It's a long trip.

What was your favorite place to go when you were a little kid? The mountains.  Even as a kid, I loved going for drives and finding roads that we hadn't been down before.  It was simple fun that wasn't costly.  I have fond memories of getting in the VW bus my mom had and asking where we were going and being told: Crazy and you don't have a choice, you're coming with me!  and then my mom would cackle.  We would protest, but the fun of the trip would have started.

Do you enjoy being with only one or two friends or with a large group of people? I'm more the one or two friends, or very small gathering.  I get uncomfortable in large groups.

What is your "quirkiest" habit? I'm a hair twister. I literally tie knots in my hair.  It's worse when I'm bored or nervous.

What part of the past year sticks out in your mind? We did so many things in the last year, but the best one was probably our trip to the Black Hills.  We had so much fun there.

What do you use more often:  your intuition or logical reasoning? I'm a logical reasoning girl, but that doesn't mean I discount my intuition.

Where is your favorite place to go out to eat? It kind of depends on my mood.  I like lots of places depending on what my tastes are at the time.  we do have on hard and fast rule.  If we are out of town, we like to eat at places that are not available in our town.  This really isn't hard as we don't really have a lot of chain restaurants in our town.

What was the last song that was stuck in your head? Oh, Miranda Lambert's new one Little Red Wagon:

What is your ethnic heritage? Mostly German and Swedish, but there's some Welsh thrown in for good measure on my father's side.

  1. I have felt like I have have been in a blogging slump lately too, so glad you linked up! That is too funny about your mom, that would be a great memory though. My brother is a hair twirler and the funniest part is that one of his sons (the one that looks the most like him) does it the exact same way, and has since he was a toddler! Always fun to try new places to eat.

We have that rule about eating out when traveling too!

My daughter twirls her hair. I've had to cut knots out! Ack!

  3. Yes, I'm totally with you on the blogging slump! I feel like I have no new ideas!

I don't twist my hair, but I'm constantly playing with it. My brother once yelled at me and told me to stop!

  4. Must be the season for blogging slumps. I've gotten things posted, but not very creative. Love your list. That's a good one to get the creative juices flowing.
