Back in the Groove

We are slowly getting settled into a routine here in our new town.  The summer was a nice time to transition, but with school starting we are getting back into the groove of routine and such.

Turbo is really liking his new school.  The high school here has a block system that is more like college in that you take a class for a semester and not for the entire year. Turbo has fit into this system quite well so far.  We are still addressing his attention issues, he likes to daydream and tends to have focus issues in class sometimes.  He is also learning to drive. he is making friends and finding where he fits in and that is nice.

Bruiser has found several boys in the neighborhood his age and has friends and such that he is enjoying spending time with.  He also likes school and is doing well. For my little introvert, he is quite social here. He does still need his down time for himself.  But it's nice that he has kids his age in our neighborhood.

Nick and I are doing pretty well.  Nick has friends he can go mountain bike riding with and have that all important social connection with.  I am muddling through.  Making friends is and has always been a slow process for me.  I'm working on it but I know it will be slow going.

Life still gets away form us on occasion, but we are getting a better handle on it every day.

On a lighter note, it snowed here today.  Typical Wyoming weather. Not a lot of snow but enough to stick on the ground.   We have off and on snow predicted all day today.  Fun times!

Now for MMMM:  THe theme is Finger snaps and Hand claps.  Let's see whats playing:

Queen and David Bowie with Under Pressure:

The Addams Family Theme song:

Mark Ronson Featuring Bruno Mars with Uptown Funk:

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Great songs. I never thought of the Addmas Family theme. Now that is classic.

  4. Sounds like you all are getting settled in your new locale. I didn't know you moved to Wyoming. Were you somewhere else nearby before the move or did you move from another state?
Wow, you are getting snow already?! I love it! I wish it would snow here. I'm so sick of the heat. It is starting to cool a little at least but still in the 80s. I don't start digging life until the temps are in the low 70s or lower. I don't know what the heck I'm doing in Texas since I hate the heat so much! Been here since 1991 so I guess I'm stuck now. :)

Great songs. Queen sure utilizes the hand-claps in a lot of their music. I never even thought of the Adamms Family. Good one! And I have Uptown Funk cranked in my headphones right now and about to hit Replay. I'm groovin' and movin' in my chair. That is one kickass song!

Thanks for playing along with my theme. Hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great week. Send some of your cold weather this way...

  5. Vandy,

At this stage in the game, I'm not seeking out new friends unless it's in Blogosphere. I rather like my quiet life doing my own stuff without being too involved in the real world. That sounds a bit unsocial but this is my happy place. lol I do miss on occasions getting together with our good friends who are now divorced (so sad). Who knows maybe, we'll connect on a special level with someone new. I'm not ruling it out but I'm not doing a lot to encourage it, either. I'm so weird!

Anyhow, I'm glad to hear y'all are finding your rightful places in your new surroundings. I enjoyed chair boogieing to all of your song choices this morning. Thanks for sharing and hitting the dance floor. Have a pAwesome week! Wait, you mentioned snow...yikes, I'm so not ready for that stuff! :)

  6. The Addams Family - but of course! That show was a staple of my childhood. And Under Pressure is a classic - Uptown Funk is perfect to dance to. Three great choices, and happy to hear you are adjusting. Moving is always traumatic in some ways. I wouldn't want to do it now that I'm in my mid 60's. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  7. Glad to see you're settling in. We didn't move towns - just across town, but it was an adjustment - mostly in my work commute and how to rearrange my time and the kids'.
